Kilifi is easily accessible, with scheduled flights arriving at Mombasa (90 minutes away), Malindi (60 minutes away), and Vipingo (20 minutes away).

The Kenyan coast enjoys warm temperatures year-round, with highs reaching 32ºC and nighttime lows of around 20ºC during the rainy season. We recommend packing light, breathable clothing, swimwear, and airy long-sleeved tops and bottoms for the evenings. While you’ll rarely need a sweater, a light cover-up can be comfortable for breezy nights.
For those interested in snorkeling, there’s beautiful marine life just off the beach at Nderit. Reef shoes are recommended for navigating the rocky shoreline. Since the coastal sun can be intense, be sure to bring high-quality sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses for protection.

Nderit offers a full laundry service, with personal laundry returned within 24 hours, weather permitting. We kindly ask guests to be mindful of water usage, as while the house is well-equipped with storage tanks and utilizes rainwater, water can be scarce in this region.
Drinking water is provided in glass bottles in the bedrooms and is replenished daily from the bottled water dispenser in the kitchen. If you’re not accustomed to Kenyan tap water, we recommend using this water for brushing your teeth as well.
-
Guests at Nderit enjoy free unlimited fiber WiFi, along with reliable 3G and 4G Safaricom network coverage. The library features a smart TV with various channels, and you can also stream content from your own online TV accounts.
In the event of a power outage, Nderit is equipped with a large generator capable of powering the entire house, including air conditioning.

The Kenyan coast is a malaria zone, with the disease transmitted by mosquitoes that are active at night. If you are not taking anti-malarial medication, we recommend covering up in the evenings and using the mosquito nets provided.
We also advise traveling with medical insurance for peace of mind. In case of emergencies, the Aga Khan Clinic in Kilifi Town is well-equipped and staffed with experienced medical professionals.
